Love Photography?

Alongside the exhibition Brassaï: Secret Paris, Heide is running Photography Protégés, a competition for young photographers.

To enter, visit Heide to experience Brassaï’s iconic images of Paris and use it as inspiration for your own artwork. Look closely at how Brassaï plays with light and composition and consider how his high-contrast  photographs transform the everyday into something surprising and intriguing.

The competition is split into two categories—junior for 7–11-year-olds and senior for 12–17-year-olds—and will be judged by Joy Anderson, Brassaï: Secret Paris Principal Donor, and Heide’s Artistic Director and co-curator of the exhibition, Lesley Harding.

Shortlisted entries will be included in an exhibition at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins and the winner of each category will receive a new digital camera!

Entries close 12 September 2026
