Heide is delighted to present Heather B. Swann’s stunning painting The Staggering Girl 2021, newly acquired for the museum collection through the Ann Bennett Acquisition fund. Inspired by the classical myth of Leda and the Swan, the work also makes direct reference to Sidney Nolan’s infamous painting Mrs Fraser 1947, long thought to be an allegorical representation of Heide founder and Nolan’s lover, Sunday Reed.
