Noël Skrzypczak
25 June - 09 October 2011

For the first time at Heide, contemporary artist Noël Skrzypczak presents one of her signature wall works alongside new sculptural objects in the evocative installation, Talking to Strangers.

Known for her large-scale abstract wall paintings characterised by vivid pigments and flowing forms, Skrzypczak’s works extend the limits of painting through their engagement with architectural space and through the unique process of their making. At once strange and beautifully appealing, Skrzypczak's otherworldly forms open a realm of wonderment for the viewer.

Skrzypczak's project at Heide develops her interest in the material qualities of paint and its powerful potential to express abstract experience. Using paint, glass and soap, among other materials, Skrzypczak creates richly-textured organic forms which resonate with allusions to the natural world, the body and the ever-changing landscape of the psyche.
