15 minutes from Flinders Street taxi rank in Melbourne’s CBD, via the Eastern freeway [Bulleen Road exit]

By Public Transport
Train [Hurstbridge line] to Heidelberg station and bus #903 [Mordialloc bound] to Heide
Disembark at the Bridge Street stop. Estimated bus travel time is 5-10 minutes
Walk to Heide through Banksia Park, via pedestrian path next to the Helmet sculpture

By Bicycle
Heide is located next to Banksia Park near the Main Yarra Trail. From Westerfolds Park in Templestowe, this 33km bike trail passes ancient gums and billabongs before ending at Southbank. With a flat grade and good quality track, this trail makes for an enjoyable experience and a truly ‘green’ way to travel to Heide. See the Main Yarra Trail map for more details.

Bus parking
Bus and coach drivers are requested to park in the bays on Templestowe Road, immediately preceding the entrance to the Upper Car Park at 7 Templestowe Road (alongside the picket fence). Due to limited space and access, the car parks are not suitable for buses.

Visitors with impaired mobility can be dropped off in the Federation Way Car Park [entry via Banksia Park, 5 Templestowe Road]. Buses should then return to Templestowe Road bays to park.
