INSIDE THE MUSEUM: ART INDUSTRY CONTEXTS FOR EDUCATORS
Wednesday 28 April, 9am–3pm
Inside the Museum is Heide’s flagship education program devised by Heide Education to complement Unit 4: Outcome 3 of VCE Studio Arts. It provides a behind-the-scenes forum for teachers to listen to and meet with arts industry professionals including curators, registrars, conservators and marketing professionals. Participants will develop their understanding of what is involved in curating and presenting an exhibition, as well as the exhibition design and marketing. See the methods and considerations involved in the conservation and preservation of artworks, and take part in a hands-on workshop in which you mount your own artwork to internationally recognised archival standards. This one-day course offers access to museum areas that are usually restricted to the general public and is a rare opportunity for teachers to discuss and critically examine selected gallery issues relevant to the visual arts sector in a unique environment. BYO A4 verticallyoriented artwork.
