This exhibition explores points of connection and interchange in the drawings of two significant Melbourne artists, Joy Hester and Albert Tucker. Many artists find drawing a particularly liberating medium, in which they can express themselves with directness, honesty and enjoyment. This exhibition presents drawings by fifteen contemporary Australian artists for whom drawing is fundamental and whose experiments extend our understanding of the medium. It wil include representationl and figurative works, as well as abstract, gestural, geometric and conceptual drawings, and incorproate a variety of approaches and materials, from pen on paper to sculptures and wall drawings.
