"VTS is a method initiated by teacher-facilitated discussions of art images and documented to have a cascading positive effect on both teachers and students" Learn more at vtshome.org

Heide Education has established a VTS professional development program for Australian educators working in schools, museums and other educational contexts.

Introduction to VTS is a one day program that gives participants a comprehensive overview of VTS methodology. Teachers learn how to use VTS with their students and have the opportunity to practice facilitating VTS discussions and receive coaching in the Heide galleries.

VTS Catch ups can take place at Heide or at school. A 2 hour session provides an opportunity for experienced educators to revisit VTS and practise their skills.

Heide Education is developing Advanced VTS training programs in collaboration with our partnership school teachers.

"It was really interesting learning about VTS and seeing just how far into an image we could go as a group. I will definitely be using VTS in my programs here at the gallery" – Georgina, Education Coordinator, Gippsland Art Gallery
