Education Week & Children's Week

Heide Boot Camp

A fun high energy exploration of the Heide Sculpture Park, students will be encouraged to discover the three-dimensional outdoor artworks that live at the museum and physically respond to them in an art themed fitness boot camp.

Working with dance educators from The Yellow Dance Spot students will use their bodies to explore movement and the three-dimensional form. A choreographed exercise routine will be developed using movements inspired by the sculpture’s colours, lines, shapes and forms. After using their bodies to explore the outdoor sculptures, students will visit the Heide exhibitions and use their minds to discuss artworks with Visual Thinking Strategies. VTS trained museum educators will guide critical and creative thinking to examine artworks through group discussions that promote social development and positive learning.

These activities will be adapted to suit the development of coordination and fine motor skills for levels F-2, 3/4 and 5/6
