The growth of the Heide Collection has always relied on the generosity of individuals. Over the last decade Heide has strengthened its resolve to acquire works by contemporary artists through fundraising, bequest and gifts. The past five years in particular has seen a significant growth in the number of contemporary works entering the collection, thanks to the generosity of patrons and donors. Inspired by the Reeds’ support of the innovative and inspiring artists of their time, but also motivated by the quality and innovation of contemporary art today, Heide’s continued commitment to acquire art will ensure the collection and exhibition program remain vital and continually enriched by - and for - future generations.
