The Heide Museum of Modern Art Archive comprises a unique body of cultural material that documents the interconnected social and art histories of Heide, as well as the development of the Museum and its Collection since Heide opened to the public in 1981.
The Archive will be an invaluable resource for scholars researching the vital roles that Heide and its founders, and the artists and staff associated with Heide, have played in the development and promotion of modern and contemporary art in Australia from the 1930s to the present day.
The Archive is currently being organised by Heide collection management and curatorial staff, and will be accessible online from January 2013.
The development and realisation of the Heide Museum of Modern Art Archive has been generously supported with funding from The Ian Potter Foundation; The Sidney Myer Fund; and The National Library of Australia.
