Inside the Museum: Art Industry Contexts

This is Heide's flagship education program devised to complement Unit 4: Outcome 3 of VCE Studio Arts.

It provides a behind-the-scenes forum for students to listen to and meet with arts industry professionals including curators, registrars, conservators and marketing professionals.
Participants will gain an insight into curating and presenting an exhibition, as well as the exhbition design and marketing.
They will also learn about the role of a public gallery, the methods and considerations involved in the conservation and preservation of artworks, and take part in a hands-on workshop in which you mount your own artwork to internationally recognised archival standards.
This one-day course offers accesss to museum ares that are usually restricted to the general public and is a rare opportunity for students to discuss and critically examine selected gallery issues relevant to the visual arts sector in a unique environment.
